Statutory Information

Governance

School governors are ordinary people from the local community who wish to make a positive contribution to children’s education. They are the largest volunteer force in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. Governors are not involved in the day-to-day management of the school.

Almost anyone can become a school governor and you can find out more information here. All new governors receive training and support from Ivy Learning Trust and their fellow governors. If you are interested in assisting the School in this way, please contact governance@ivylearningtrust.org.

Debbie Rodriguez - Trustee Appointed Governor (Vice chair)

I have been a governor at Eastfield since 2009. During this time I have taken on many different roles, but am currently serving as the Safeguarding Governor. My two daughters both attended Eastfield and left achieving good grades in their SATS and were very happy at the school. Outside of this voluntary role I am a Family Community Worker at the local Church and run a very busy playgroup for 0-4 year olds. I am very pleased to serve my local community, a role that is rewarding and fulfilling, but also challenging and inspiring too.

Hanna Hassan – Trustee Appointed Governor

I am deeply honoured to serve as a Trustee Appointed Governor at Eastfield Primary School. With a rich background in clinical research, I currently hold the position of Senior Regulatory Manager at a global pharmaceutical company. In this role, I ensure that our innovative products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.

My experience includes successfully navigating the complex regulatory landscapes, shaping policies, and fostering collaborations that drive meaningful advancements in patient care.

I firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of a thriving society, empowering young minds to become future leaders, innovators, and compassionate individuals. I am excited about utilising my experience and skills to support the school’s journey in delivering the best education possible. I look forward to contributing to Eastfield Primary School’s mission and being an active part of its continued success.

Janice Tunney - Trustee Appointed Governor

I have spent 40 years working in the primary education sector, 25 years as a class teacher across a variety of London boroughs and then 15 years as headteacher of an infant school with an attached nursery in Essex. Since stepping down from that role I have been studying with the Open University as well as playing netball and looking after two grandchildren. I am also an enthusiastic singer belonging to two choirs, one in Enfield and one in central London. I am of course still keenly interested in children and their learning.
