Your child may have a school lunch or, if they prefer, bring their own packed lunch. We have a large kitchen and the school meals are cooked on site. The menu is planned for three weeks in advance and is written up each day. There is a choice of food, with a daily salad bar. The selection caters for a range of dietary preferences and needs.
School Meals
If you would like your child to have a school meal and are not eligible for free school meals (see below) please contact the school office. They will arrange login details for the easy to use Parent Pay Website. As our school is now cashless, once registered you will be able to use the login to pay for school meals, activities and uniform. Payments can also be made at some local shops through the Pay Point system please contact the school office for further information.
Packed Lunch
If your child has a packed lunch, please provide a clearly labelled lunch box and put the drink in a plastic container (no glass bottles). We are committed to healthy eating, we do not allow sweets, chocolates or fizzy drinks. *Allergy Alert*.
Changes to lunches
Please Note: – Children can only change between School Dinner and Packed Lunch at the end of a half term. Therefore, if your child has a School Dinner on the first day of a new half term they will need to remain as School Dinners until the next holiday. If your child has a Packed Lunch on the first day of a new half term they will need to remain as Packed Lunch until the next holiday.

Free School Meals
There are two types of free school meals available:
1. Universal free school meals
All pupils are able to receive a school meal at no cost. This does not depend on your household income or whether you receive any benefits.
2. Income related free school meals
Although your child is currently eligable for free school meals, if you receive any of the following benefits or support you may qualify for income related free school meals. You can find out by using the eligability checker below or by requesting a form from the school office. Additional funding is made available for every eligible child so schools can improve facilities and learning activities.
- Universal Credit: Your household income must be no more than £7,400 a year after tax (this is based on earned income).
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit: (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Pension Credit: You must be receiving the guaranteed element.
- Immigration and Asylum Act 1999: You must be supported under Part VI of this act.
- Working Tax Credit run-on: You may be eligible for a 4-week period after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.
Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:
- younger than the compulsory age for starting school
- in full-time education
Once you have applied and your child is deemed eligible for free school meals, they’ll remain eligible until they finish the phase of schooling (primary or secondary).
